Information we handle
When you visit this site, hosting systems may process your IP address, browser details, requested pages, and security logs. If you contact us, we receive your email and message. The Better Nights app may process account details, bedtime settings, routines, check-ins, sleep reflections, app-blocking activity, subscriptions, support messages, product usage, and diagnostics, depending on the features you use.
If an approved Better Nights team member connects an authorized TikTok account, we receive TikTok’s account identifier, display name, granted scopes, access and refresh tokens, and public video metadata and engagement counts. Our website receives a short-lived authorization code and state. The server validates and exchanges them for tokens, then stores the tokens encrypted in its protected database. Studio requires Firebase sign-in and server-side authorization for approved Better Nights team accounts.
Why we use it
We use website data to operate and secure the site and answer enquiries. App data supports the features you choose, account management, support, subscriptions, product reliability, and improvement. TikTok data is used to verify the authorized account and display its public videos and current engagement in Better Nights Studio, supporting our content-performance workflow for the public Better Nights app. We do not use the connection to publish or alter TikTok content.
Our lawful bases may include contract for requested app services, legitimate interests for security and service improvement, consent where required for optional features or sensitive wellbeing information, and legal obligation where applicable. TikTok access also depends on the account holder’s explicit authorization through TikTok.
Sharing and transfers
We share data only where needed with service providers such as hosting, authentication, analytics, subscription, support, and security services, and with TikTok for the authorized connection. The app’s existing services may include Firebase/Google Cloud, Mixpanel, RevenueCat, Superwall, Apple or Google app stores, and Expo as described in the broader policy. Providers may process data outside the UK; applicable transfer safeguards are described in that policy. We do not sell personal data.
Retention and control
We keep information only for as long as needed for the stated purposes, security, support, disputes, and legal requirements. TikTok tokens remain encrypted while the connection is active. Disconnecting from Better Nights Studio deletes the stored tokens and attempts to revoke TikTok access. If TikTok cannot confirm revocation, we ask you to revoke access in TikTok’s app settings too. Historical post-performance snapshots stored by the separate Better Nights Growth Engine may remain for business analytics unless deletion is requested or no longer needed. TikTok can also revoke access through its own account permissions. The demo page uses sample data and does not connect to TikTok.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you can ask to access, correct, erase, restrict, or transfer your personal data, object to certain processing, and withdraw consent where we rely on it. Contact support@betternightsapp.co.uk. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
Updates
